Crema- Nashville, TN
Crema is hands down my favorite coffee shop in Nashville. It's also been around longer than many of the trendiest shops in the city. When I had moved to Nashville in 2010, it was still one small room, a different bar set-up, and they weren't yet offering the robust selection of self-roasted beans that they do now. They have since expanded the main room, updated their bar, and created a back room for roasting and classes. It's also one of my favorite views in the city, nestled up on high just off downtown.
The Cuban is my favorite drink in the whole city, a latte with a touch of sweetened condensed milk. The knowledge of both the roasters and the baristas shine through in this simple espresso drink. In fact, the staff is so friendly and knowledgable that you too can learn the basics of brewing, frothing milk and more by taking one of their classes.
They also offer a variety of beans to take home, brewing equipment, and some fancy coffee mugs. I would really recommend taking home some of their beans and enjoying the deck on a sunny day. There's been a surge of coffee shops in the past few years in Nashville but Crema will always hold a place in my heart for both experience and quality.
